Do I need to get permission from someone (the person that "invented" the treatment method?) to discuss the uses of the treatment method in my book?
For example, if I say "Treatment A has been shown to be very effective in treating simple phobias." And if I go on to discuss and recommend "Treatment A" as a preferred method.
I think perhaps I didn’t explain myself well enough. Of course I am going to acknowledge and cite the reference. I’m not going to claim the treatment method(s) as my own. But do I need to do more than simply cite the reference?

I already see a therapist and I currently do EMDR. I’m not on any meds but feel "stuck" in the treatment of some of my phobias….what can I do?

I know that phobias are treatable, but I’m just curious about peoples’ experiences with different phobia treatments. Good, bad experiences? What kinds of therapy are there; what does it entail? Did it work for you?
