fear

Seriously,…..I have a phobia of doctors. And I have several serious symptoms. I know I need to see a doctor. But am scared to death. I keep telling myself that it is all normal to have glands that swell often and large for 12 years and problems with legs (paralisis that occurs occassionally),etc. I know that sounds crazy. But I can’t bring myself to go. Please no insults as this is hard for me to ask. Anyone have any suggestions?
The reason I have phobia is because of several family members died to being wrongly treated by them. I know this doesn’t happen to everyone. But I lost 4 people in my family that were wrongly treated or the treatment caused their death.
No malpractice suits. We felt that it would not be worth reliving the horrible events. And it wouldn’t bring them back. However I wonder if it was the right decision,…due to the fact there are no telling how many others that have been misdiagnosed, etc by theses doctors.
Thank you all for your help. It was really hard for me to do this question. In fear that people wouldn’t understand and would laugh. Thanx again you all are great and have some good suggestions.

If someone has social anxiety disorder and also AD(H)D, and would normally fidget and move around constantly while alone, could their fear of being criticised for their movements while in the prescence of others cause them to remain still or ‘paralysed’?

I have a fear of bugs going into my ear, and when I’m in a car with the window down I have a fear of having something sharp hit me in the eye. Nothing scares me more than the thought of having my eyes touched, or having bugs buzz around my ears. Is there a phobia for this?

I don’t know what it is called but I have it really bad. I always get really scared if someone is about to touch me because they might be dirty or they haven’t washed their hands. I’m not germaphobic because I touch dirty stuff like doors or whatever all the time with no fear. It’s just when people touch me. What is this phobia called?

Twice now a few years apart I have experienced what I believe to be a panic attack. I always thought before that it was an asthma attack, but the inhaler never seems to help much. My breathing test measured 29 which is just one point into the asthma range so I don’t treat it. For me it always started with trouble breathing when I can’t seem to slow it down, which most times I can if I force my mouth closed and breath through my nose to slow it down. A couple of times now, I was frightened and couldn’t slow it down for over an hour which left me pale, clammy, weak and disoriented. I also get to the point where I think I’m going to faint and can not move at all for fear of fainting. (Too much oxygen?) I have not yet discussed the severe attacks with my doctor.
