I suffered from pretty debilitating anxiety and depression for a couple years and found that exercise and diet really seemed to help me… in addition to maintaining normal hours (not staying up all night and sleeping all day)… and taking vitamin supplements (Vitamin b-50 really helped me… though check with your doctor). Some say to avoid caffeine, excess sugar and make sure to walk EVERYDAY, snow, sleet or hail, for 30 minutes. You might want to try something like Yoga as well… I hear the breathing exercises really help.
Hope that helps. Best wishes!
I like to take a walk or go sit down, watch a movie, surf the net or list in to music. Maybe have a soda or a snack and relax.
The main sections on anxiety and stress:
Anxiety & Stress: how anxiety and stress develop.
Relaxation: how to re-learn this valuable, forgotten skill – an essential for enjoying an active, challenging, successful lifestyle.
Breathing Methods: changing your breathing pattern is the quickest and most effective way of changing your feelings and thoughts – but the usual advice to calm yourself by taking ‘ a few deep breaths’ is mis-leading.
Your Self -Talk: our moods are frequently the result of the incessant inner chatter that continuously goes through our minds. You can learn to become aware of this and to change how you affect your moods through your self-talk.
Mind-Body: the mind does not rule the body, nor does the body rule the mind. They interact and continually affect one another.

Yoga and breathing exercises. Anxiety attacks also have alot to do with your mental state. Try to not over analyze things and be calm. Don’t put yourself in situations that you know may trigger you to panic.
I experienced this after the death of a loved one. Meditation and yoga-like breathing techniques worked for me.
ANXIETY ATTACKS ARE HARD TO DEAL WITH . I JUST KEEP TELLING MY SELF. THAT I WILL BE O.K. ITS SOME THING THAT YOU REALLY NEED TO TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT .
anxiety attacks are triggered in several ways but always affect the central nervous system, which can also offset your adrenaline making it more severe. At the onset get a glass or cup of water and heat it to hot as you can stand and sip. This vasodialates your capalaries which constrict during the attack, and lessens the degree of the attack. Then to get rid of the adrenaline get busy, do jumping jacks, take a brisk walk. Works for me.
scream into a pillow or talk to a friend about your worries- i have general anxiety disorder- i can relate. exercising can also help- the moment you feel an attack coming on- go for a walk if you have time. if you have a pet then spend time with it when you feel anxious- they sometimes can help you relax. dont drink alcohol- for me it made it worse. and finally breathe slowly and deeply. if all else fails- try effexor!
