I swear I don’t feel depressed, but I do suffer from panic and anxiety attacks when I’m in public. People accuse me of being depressed though because they say they go hand-in-hand. But I truly do not feel depressed. Is that possible?

What medications help with social anxiety? I know that there are a lot of anti-anxiety drugs but I am looking for any that specifically help with social anxiety.
And I’m not interested in alternative methods other than medications. I already know of all of them.

I was reading somewhere that they take blood, and check you out for other illnesses, before they actually diagnose someone…So, How(or what.) do the Doctors do, before diagnosing someone with Panic Disorder.

      Thanks to anyone who answers.

For a while now, I’ve had classic panic attack symptoms, but no panic attacks (well, i can bet i’ve had few and just didn’t know that they were panic attacks). A while, actually, meaning a few months (since I started practicing for my first solo voice recital).
I’ve had a shortness of breath, random pains (chest area especially–but not just heart area), nausea, and just plain exhaustion, palpitations/rapid heart beat and shaking. But not all of them all at once.

So my question is, can you have panic attack symptoms with just a high anxiety level? And how long do the symptoms last?

Oh, and I had a panic attack last night. ):
